Please join us for an information session for the Lafayette College interim abroad program in London (May- July 2019) entitled “Social and Ethical Aspects of Health Care in the U.S and U.K.”
This is an eight-week, two course program (INDS 245-class) & INDS 371-internship) led by Profs. Ruebeck (Economics) and Lammers (Religious Studies). Details of the program can be found in the attached flyer. Here is the brief description of the program:
“The seminar-style course component covers the broad topics of health care in both cultures: historical, economic, ethical, and political dimensions of how a health care delivery system comes to be, and how it works (or does not!) for the society. The internship experience occurs during half of the stay in London and will involve placement in a health care or human services workplace in London. Opportunities include positions in research universities and institutes, physical and occupational therapy, medical and psychiatric hospitals and homes, refuge centers and community organizations, and a variety of government and private agencies. Many cultural activities in and around London and Southern England will also be part of the experience; these include Shakespeare’s Globe and visits to Cambridge, Stonehenge, and historic Bath.”
We encourage you to join us on April 10th to learn more about this seminar course complemented by a workplace internship. It will expand your academic horizons and provide direct engagement in a UK health care setting!
