This is a mandatory meeting for juniors and seniors who are seriously considering application to medical, dental, podiatry, optometry or veterinary schools in the Spring 2026. We will review the on-campus application process as well as cover the information on how to submit your official application to relevant centralized application services. We will also address some of your FAQs about the on-campus application.

GCC: LVHN Summer Scholar Program Info Session

At this meeting, Ms. Jeanne Reilly, from the LVHN will present information on how you can apply for this opportunity.
LVHN’s Research Scholar Program is an eight-week summer internship and educational program for undergraduate students. Research Scholars work with mentors on a research or quality improvement project in the hospital network. Both clinical and non-clinical positions are available for virtually all student majors.

At this meeting we will go over the elements of GreenSheet advising form which is designed to provide opportunity for students to honestly assess their developing profile as prospective applicants. We will also take a deeper dive into holistic review, what it means and how it affects the admissions review process. This is the last session in our series that will help you to tackle getting ready to apply with strength.

Health Professions Alumni Panel

A virtual panel and a Q&A session with our alumni panelists (Maryum Cheema ’22- Columbia University College of Dental Medicine; Dan Elmi ’22- Temple University School of Medicine; and Eman Shahzad ’23- TOURO College of Medicine) who will reflect on their journeys to dentistry and medicine so far. They will also share with us the steps they took to explore and prepare for a career in the health professions, including challenges they faced along the way and how they overcame them.

In this session, we will offer guidance on how you can strengthen your application materials for health professions school. We will provide tips on writing your HP CV, personal information form (PIF) and on capturing your skills and competencies. We will also provide templates on how you can approach asking for letters of recommendation. This is Session 2 of 3 sessions HP Advising will offer so you can tackle getting ready to apply with strength. All HP students are welcome to attend.

Part 1: Effective Learning and Reading Strategies for High Stakes Exams

In this session we will discuss tools that will help you understand and employ comprehensive reading and learning strategies. We will be led by our colleagues Ms. Marty Sullivan (Director, Academic Resource HUB) and Dr. Laura Murray (Director, CITLS).  Both are specialists in helping to assess reading and learning for tests that are markedly different from your run-of-the-mill high school or college exam. This is Session 1 of 3 sessions HP Advising will offer so you can tackle getting ready to apply with strength. However, all health professions students are welcome to attend.
