The Health Professions Program works closely with faculty, alumni, and the Gateway Career Center, to provide programming designed to help students learn more about health care issues and health professions careers. As part of our advising program, we help students navigate through the course selection process, assess their chances of admission, offer advice on how to enhance their application portfolio as well as help them prepare for their official application submission to medical, dental, optometry, or veterinary school.
Although the majority of our health professions students pursue majors in the natural sciences, we encourage students to explore academic interests in and out of the sciences. However, as non-science majors, students will still need to take certain courses in order to attend a health professions school upon graduating from Lafayette.
